"Factory" Back

'b' - without lithographer's name

"Four Points" Back (Type '2')

'b' - without lithographer's name
The backs of the cards in this group appear in one of two styles, both printed in black. Some show a detailed engraving of the Arbuckle factory buildings and docks, in a horizontal format, while others contain only the standard "Four Points" sales pitch (Type '2'), in a vertical format, explaining the virtues of Arbuckles' Ariosa Coffee.

All cards in the series exist with both style backs. In addition, while most cards bear the lithographer's name "Geo S. Harris & Sons, Lith. Phila." in tiny type at the very bottom of the card, I have run across some cards which do not. On each of the pages showing the individual cards I've indicated which style backs I have, or at least know for certain to exist. (NOTE: In some cases, particularly the "Factory" back cards, misalignment of the printing may cause the text at the bottom to be "chopped off". I do not include such cards when identifying those with/without the lithographer's name.)
