HANDICAPPED BY HIS BUSINESS COUNSEL (with a significant look at the
jury, to witness)--"Now then sir, you say
that you don't know Smith personally, and
yet upon general principles you don't think
he is a man to be trusted. What do you
mean by that?"
WITNESS--"I mean that his business is
agin him."
"What's his business?"
"He's a lawyer."
